Introductions
« on: October 26, 2011, 11:47:53 pm »
I would like in this thread, recommended by RafeSkyler, for everyone to write a short description about them selves. You don't have to put anything you don't feel comfortable saying on here, but some basic info would great.

I'll start it by writing a bit about myself.

My in-game game Premier_Pyrus. My real name is Vadim Bors, I can actually from Moldova (Europe) and now live in Troutdale, Oregon (since I was 9). I am 17 and a senior at Reynolds High, and also go to CAL for half the school day, as many other people that are part of AGOA (CAL was the birth place of AGOA for those of you that don't know). Some of my hobbies are sports like basketball and tennis, programming, and music. I also love music. I play the trumpet, a bit of piano. Also, most people don't know this about me (get ready for this guys) but I love singing. You would be surprised at what a singing voice I have (no joke). I always have music playing at my house, 24/7. If you were to sneak into my house (I'm not saying you should do it lol) without my knowing, you would have a great chance of hearing me sing out load (although most of the time it's along other music) :D

You guys, actually, are the first, outside my family and church, to which I have told this :D

I'm Benjamin Jury, in game name is RafeSkyler. I graduated from CAL this year and have started classes at Mount Hood Community College this fall. I enjoy playing computer games such as Team Fortress 2, Freelancer Shattered Worlds, Time Shift, COD4, and of course Minecraft :D I also like to build Lego's, mostly spacecraft (I like space) and other vehicles. In addition I also enjoy playing various board games, such as Twilight Imperium, Settlers of Catan and various others. And then there's D&D...

When it comes to Minecraft I tend to build underground. I like things to look purposeful and be consistent (not always symmetrical, but most the time I do build things to be symmetrical) I dislike dirt, gravel, sand and sandstone. I only like cobblestone in small quantities. I love lava, water, stone, stone bricks, obsidian, and wood when not over used. So if you come see my final projects, you'll see a lot of things underground and made with stone, stone brick, stone pavers (those nice half-blocks) with some obsidian mixed in. You'll also see lots of lava and waterfalls :D

I tend to get distracted and run from project to project (hence why I still haven't finished that sugarcane farm) I like to explore caves and mine tunnels and try not to get lost...

Hello,
Im Denny Wood, Denovin in Minecraft.  I was born in Corvallis Oregon, moved to Pinole California when I was 4.5 till my parents divorced and I moved with my Mom back to Corvallis at 6.  I went to school in Corvallis through my Freshman year (Corvallis High school) then decided to stay with my Dad in California and graduated at Dublin High school in Dublin California.  I took some classes at Los Positas Community College and worked as a security guard for Blackhawk (a gated residential community). I worked for AT&T (television customer service/sales, now Comcast) before they decided to change the call center to a tech center and lay off over 150 people.  I chose to take the severance package (2 months pay with no work) and went back to another term in school.  I had a hard time finding a job after that and money became scarce (2001).  I decided to move back to Oregon and live with my Mom while I found a job, and took some more classes at Linn-Benton Community College.  I eventually found a job as a security guard for Hewlett Packard in Corvallis where I met my wife Chrystal.  Shortly after we started dating, I got accepted into an apprenticeship program for Limited Energy Electrician.  I stuck with that for several years and earned my License.
Limited Energy Electricians can do Fire Alarm, Nurse Call, CCTV, Security, Access Control, Phone, and Data.  My wife and I about 6 months after getting married had Makayla (will be 3 in December) and a year and a half later Hailey.  Being a dad is a great thing, but greatly diminishes hardcore gaming.  Do to the bad economy work has been hard to come by, but with how much I made, I received a decent unemployment amount and was able to live off it during the down times just fine.  After trying to get a more stable position, I have landed myself a job working for the Salem-Keizer Public School District as a Maintenance Worker 3.  Though I do not work maintenance, I am the Inventory Procurement Specialist for them.  I get to basically shop all day long, I love it.  When Im not shopping for the best price of new goodies, I get to create procedures, work instructions, policy's bringing the school district closer to ISO 9000 Standards.
My hobby life.  I started gaming when my Grandfather helped buy a Nintendo for Christmas sometime around 1987 or so (cant really remember exactly as I was 7.. or so).  I graduated to the SNES, then N64, and then a PC.  My parents bought me a computer for my graduation gift (class of 1998 woo!) an HP Pavilion Pentium 266 (now your playing with power!!!).  After about 4 months of hard use, I decided to upgrade my PC, and destroyed the new motherboard being a complete computer newb, grounding out the brand new motherboard on the HP proprietary case.  I learned quickly however, and soon had my first self built Pentium 400.  Anyways, I played many games around then, some examples Command and Conquer Red Alert, Baldurs Gate.  Mostly I played Medievia (www.medievia.com) a multi user dungeon.  A text based multiplayer RPG.
After moving back to Oregon, and upgrading my PC to a Pentium 733, I switched to Athlon 1333, then upgraded to an Athlon 1800+.  I stuck with this PC for many years, playing Everquest, Marrowind, Shadowbane, Deus Ex, Americas Army, and the list goes on through Eve.  I had to modify my computer to keep up, and overclocked it and added fans and got mod happy using cardboard and old fans to direct the air flow better, and cool better.  I eventually knew I needed a new PC and I was married at the time, so I had to plead with the wife to get a new one.  She eventually caved in, and I now have an Intel E6850 (3ghz, dual core 64bit)  I did a full upgrade of everything, new hard drives, video card etc etc.
Now.. I play Minecraft on max settings!!!

I left out a LOT of my life that I have found entertaining.. I wish I could make this story better.. but Im afraid I would spent a LONG time doing that, and some of you may become bored.

Wow, sounds like you had some rough patches in there. Glad to hear things are going well for you. :D

And, I am totally jealous of your system. It's the like having a dish aof mashed potatoes, gravy, and turckey right in front of you. Your starving, drooping, but you can't have it. :D

Hi,
I'm Audrey Mayner or Anya Katan in game. This is probably late but oh well, better late then never. Oregon has been my home for....forever (and thus I love the rain). I grew up in Salem, and now live in Gresham. Over the past few years, I have graduated from Corban University with a double major and have worked had to start teaching piano.

My fond memories of childhood always take me back to play with legos, dinosaurs, or computers. Besides the dinosaur factor, this game has fit with many of my interests and thus I'm here... Other than this, I love reading, playing piano, and outdoorsy activities. So I guess this pretty much describes me. :)

To follow Skyler's example, in minecrafe, I enjoy building structures based off of something else. I enjoy either copying a picture or somebody else's brilliant design. I enjoy almost everything except large quantities of gravel. Because I get bored of my own projects it takes me a long time to complete them, but I like being helpful so I often leave my projects if somebody else needs help.

...you like the rain? ...I hate the rain, which is why I'm always inside during the wet seasons. Unfortunately that is 3/4 of the year here. I Modova we did not get as much rain. Enough for crops but not a lot. And it was mostly the Spring that was wet. The Fall was mostly dry, then we would get snow in late October after a a short period of rain. In the winter we were always snowed in (I remember snow completely covering out house once, 5 feet of snow all over) and te summer was real nice and warm (be which I mean 100+ degrees F'). So that is probably why I love the summer and SNOWY winters, and hate the rain. :D
